STRONGER NEWS - Dec 2025 - The Power of Community

We both feel extra grateful to be doing this work together… We believe so strongly in how books can shape readers’ lives for the better, delivering empathy and hope. We also know that as we are about to embark on a new year of standing up for the freedom to read, community and connection is how we sustain this movement and, ultimately, succeed.

Hello freedom to read advocates!

We’re thinking about how we’re in this fight for diversity and the freedom to read together with you and so many others – and how reassuring and empowering that is!

Like the 34 organizations who signed this joint letter to Tennessee’s Secretary of State in response to his recent directives to Tennessee public libraries, reminding him (and us all) that “the state should support—not hinder—the fundamental freedoms of expression and access to information for all, which define a library’s purpose.”

Like the 80 (and counting) partners of this program, who are spreading the word so we can buy and donate two books for every one book challenge.

In this season of giving, our ask is to help us build this community:

Between now and Dec 31, 2025, can you please reach out to one person to tell them about We Are Stronger Than Censorship and ask them to sign up for our monthly newsletter?

With thanks and appreciation for all you do,

Lee and Tasslyn
