In the midst of the ongoing mean-spirited chaos being inflicted upon our communities, we remember and affirm that empathy and joy—and diverse books—are resistance. Vital resistance.

It’s a new year and while the people afraid of the power of books haven’t stopped banning them (three more books were just added to Utah’s state-wide bans) we haven’t stopped fighting for the freedom to read.

Hello freedom to read advocates!

We both feel extra grateful to be doing this work together… We believe so strongly in how books can shape readers’ lives for the better, delivering empathy and hope. We also know that as we are about to embark on a new year of standing up for the freedom to read, community and connection is how we sustain this movement and, ultimately, succeed.
